Tony,
How do you think Rising Damp would have fared if Wilfrid Brambell, who originally played him, had gotten the series? Apparently the reason he didn't is Wilfrid played him as very dark and seedy, and the producers who saw the stage show didnt like that, and thought it would be inappropriate. I personally think it would have given the character a more interesting side. Of course, Rossitter is fantastic as always, and I dont care what people say, I think his last sitcom Trippers Day is great!

Hi Tony

Oh yes, really like Rising Damp and Reginald Perrin.

I've been trying to get quality copies of the Radio Episodes of Likely Lads. Have a CD which i bought from Ebay some time ago but the quality is awful!
BBC7 re-transmitted the Radio Series a while back but did not know it was on, hence unable to record it.

Cheers!

Tony,

Harryandwilf.co.uk is no longer in existence, for various reasons. However, I have agreed to work closely with Bob of the society on some porjects for the appreciation society website, which will hopefully include some of the H&W content.

I lvoe having to type UNDERPANTS every time I post here! We don't use that word enough in modern society!

Thanks Phil
The new format makes things easier to add items but i agree with your comment in the email, the forum archive was good but the spam was a real problem.

Congrats on meeting Sue Corbett, she's a lovely lady.
I had no idea she was doing a signing in London, i only live a short train ride away as well :!cry:

Not sure if you like The Likely Lads but hoping to put a site together soon dedicated to that comedy. Likely Lads is not everyone's cup of tea but the skill of the writing and acting is superb, it deserves a site of its own but steptoe of course comes first!

Speak soon!
Ron
