Lactation is a term for the production of milk in the mammary glands of the human body. Women have mammary glands that are placed within the fatty tissue in their breasts.
A hormone termed oxytocin is released in response to the birth of a new baby which stimulates the body to yield milk and also undergo uterine contractions.
The mammary growth happens during the pregnancy because of the placental hormones, and there is some yielding of milk in the breast, but a proper and copious amount of milk secretion only happens after the delivery. The breasts unlike other organs in the human body continue to grow throughout the pregnancy.
How can women boost their lactation?
Some websites provide information on when to start eating lactation cookies, breastfeeding tips and steps, and other such valuable information regarding pregnancy and childbirth along with providing a sufficient supply of products that involve the brewer’s yeast, and other such safe ingredients that promote a healthy supply of milk for the newborn.
The combination of estrogen and progesterone circulating in the blood during pregnancy results in the formation of milk in the human body. The expulsion of the placenta, and the loss of its hormone supply at the end of the pregnancy, along with the decline of hormones produced by the ovaries, favors lactation.
Women can start eating lactation cookies, bakes, and other supplements during their pregnancy, or the weeks leading up to the due date since the ingredients used in the making are safe. It is advised to focus more on the first few hours of the delivery, or the first 3 to 5 days of childbirth to ensure a bountiful supply of milk.
